Rodrigo and Kerry-Ann your captain and chef onboard Zingara, are a delightful team whose professional attitude and friendly disposition will ensure that your vacation onboard their yacht will be an unforgettable experience.

Rodrigo was born in Brazil and immigrated to South Africa where he completed his schooling and obtained a University degree in Advertising and Graphic design. He met Kerry in South Africa where she was born and they discovered a mutual love for sailing and water sports which led them to the Caribbean to peruse a career as a professional charter Captain and Chef. Rodrigo holds an MCA Yachtmaster Ocean’s License and is also a PADI Divemaster. His adventurous spirit, natural enthusiasm and expert seamanship will ensure and exiting and safe adventure onboard Zingara.

Kerry has always had a natural passion for cooking, with over 10 years experience in the hospitality industry. Her Creativity in food presentation and effortless smile and charm will make you feel at home while you enjoy ever delicious meal that she prepares. She is a Certified PADI Rescue Diver and water sport enthusiast, and also holds a MCA day skippers license.

Both Kerry and Rodrigo have over 10 000 nautical miles of experience having sailed the east coast of Africa, the Atlantic Ocean, Great Lakes and now the waters of the Caribbean that they have called home since 2003.

Both Rodrigo and Kerry-Ann, and Peter and Colleen are joined by a stewardess and a deckhand/mate.

Peter is of German decent and was born in South Africa. His love for the Ocean began as a teenager. Leading him to the SA Navy, SA Sports fishing Team and his own Salvage Company. He is renown for salvaging all the tin wrecks off the southern coast of Africa. After retiring at an early age he bought into a successful plastics manufacturing company which was sold on the stock exchange. His adventurous nature then lead him to Zimbabwe where he purchased a Game and Cattle Farm and started two plastics factories. In 2002 it was acquired by the Government without compensation. He then went back to the sea in Mozambique doing Sports Fishing and many Trans Atlantic crossings. His yearn for sailing lured him to the Caribbean where he has been chartering on successful charter boats since. He holds a RYA/MCA Yacht Master Offshore Ocean and Master of Yachts 200 Tons. He is a PADI Open Water Instructor. He is also very competent in all aspects of maintaining and running yachts. His adventures, experience, loyalty and honesty, sense of humor make him a great captain to sail with!

Colleen was born in Rhodesia and has lived and worked in all of the Southern African countries. She has worked her way thru every hospitality industry, up to National Operations Manager of Avis Rent a Car. After living in Las Vegas, she married Peter and moved back to Zimbabwe. She has since worked side by side with him, done 3Trans Atlantic crossings and is a PADI Advanced Diver. Her love for cooking, Cordon Blue tuition and delicious culinary skills will make your mouth water!! Her motto is ìStrangers are just friends we have not metî. She has a warm, gentle caring nature. Together with her impeccable cleanliness and hospitable nature you will love spending time with her on the yacht!

They have worked and lived together since they met in 1995, as a dynamic team.
